My background

My Masters in Clinical Psychology from Washburn University was from an evidence based cognitive behavioral training program with a strong interpersonal component. During training I had the experience of working with individuals, couples, and families. In 1995 I completed a one year internship at Family Service & Guidance Center, in Topeka, Kansas working with individuals, couples, families, and children.

From 1995 to 1997 I worked at Northeast Kansas Mental Health & Guidance Center in Leavenworth Kansas. I saw individuals, adults, adolescents and children for therapy and did couples and family therapy. I ran a group at a day treatment facility for severely mentally ill individuals and was on call for a catchment area and was certified to assess individuals for involuntary commitment.

My doctorate in clinical psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology involved training across a wide range of theories. I took coursework in industrial-organizational psychology, pain management, child and adolescent psychology, and three courses on Jungian psychology taught by a Jungian analyst (Dr. Park).

In 2001 I attended a one year APA accredited internship at Columbia River Mental Health & Guidance Center and in 2002 I attended a one year residency at Mental Health Northwest. I worked with individual and couples and ran an interpersonal process group.

In my private practice I integrate complementary methods and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to you. With compassion and understanding, I work to build on your strengths and to help you develop an understanding of the nature of your issues. We can then work together to develop a plan of potential changes. My training allows us to conceptualize and discuss your life from multiple unique perspectives to help you modify, adapt to life, and to thrive.
